Parts Needed For Flat Towing a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Behind a RV

Question:

My RV max tow is 6000, recommended 5500, 6 speed sync trans, v10. Want to tow a Jeep approx 3250. Tapping the brakes, releases the cruise control, thereby downshifting to 6th gear downhill - possible runaway or smoking the brakes in mountains. Recommendation to tow the Jeep?

It sounds like you are needing the parts to flat tow your 2000 Jeep Wrangler behind your RV along with a supplemental braking system. The supplemental braking system will activate the brakes in your Wrangler to reduce the chances of cooking your brakes when in the mountains. I recommend using the following parts to make flat towing safest.

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5
Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676
Roadmaster Accessory Kit for Nighthawk and Sterling Tow Bars # RM-9284-2
Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524

You may need a high-low adapter to maintain the level for your tow bar. It needs to be within 3" of level from your receiver to the front of your Jeep. Here are our adapters which you can select from if needed.

4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10
