Can The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20304 Be Used On A 1963 Ford Fairlane

Question:

I read a cusomers question about installing Dexstar wheel am20504 on an AMC Rambler. The expert responded that normally trailer wheels are not placed on vehicles but that line of wheels were an exception. Is that also true of Dexstar am20304? I have a 1963 Fairlane and want the original look. I would of course install automobile tires on the wheels. I read the load rating for the wheel and It states 2200. Am I right that for a car weighing 3000 pounds or so, it should fall well within the rating. Thank you

The wheels we carry are designed for trailer use but if the specifications of the wheel align with the specs needed for the vehicle then you could still technically use them. The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20304 you referenced is a 14" diameter x 5-1/2" wide wheel with a 2.62" pilot hole and +0.5" offset. It requires a 1/2"-20 stud size and 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. The 2,200lb capacity of the wheel would be more than enough to handle the weight of the vehicle. I recommend verifying that everything matches up prior to purchase.
