Recommended Lithium Compatible Converter Section Replacement For A WFCO8955

Question:

I have a 2019 Lance 1985 with go solar ports. I would like to upgrade my WFCO8955 PEC to a lithium system and replace my 2 agm 12v batteries with lithium. What i see as a dependable replacement would. be the PD4655LIV and 2 Lipoe batteries. I still would like to mount 100W on roof, do I need a seperate controller?

The PD4655LIV unfortunately is no longer in production you'll need the Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section for AC/DC Power Distribution Panel # PD4655V instead. This will also simply replace the converter section of your current power center and has a lithium jumper on the circuit board to adjust your charging profile from lead acid to lithium.

As for the solar, this system is going to be completely independent from the your power center. Solar begins at the panels up on the roof and then runs to a controller to regulate the charge. This controller will read the battery charge level and send an appropriate charge to the battery based on this information. If you don't already have the solar equipment then the Go Power Retreat Solar Charging System with Digital Solar Controller # 34272635 would be a great option to pick up. This comes with a 100w panel, 30 amp solar controller, mounting brackets, and some cables to hook everything up. You'll just need to pick up some butyl tape # AL28FJ and self-leveling sealant # 34427034145-1 for a proper waterproof seal for the panel mounting brackets.
