Installing A Friction Sway Control Kit On A Tubular Frame Trailer
Question:
What is needed, I have a tubular framed trailer ?

The Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 would need a flat surface for the ball plate assembly to mount to. I've attached a diagram below of the ball plate assembly's overall dimensions as well as the bolt hole pattern. If your tubular frame doesn't allow for these dimensions then you would need to have the plate assembly welded to the frame to complete the connection. If you instead mean tubular as in a box frame then you just need to make sure that the side of the frame is large enough for the ball plate to be bolted on.
If your ball mount doesn't already have a space for the friction sway control hitch ball then you can pick up either the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 1-1/4" Drawbars # RP26005 or Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003, depending on the size of your ball mount shank.
