Do The Trailer Wheel and Tire Packages Require Balancing To Use?
Question:
Is balancing needed on the trailer wheel and tire combos?
asked by: Dave
Expert Reply:
Tire balancing is not required for our wheel and tire packages like the Kenda KR25 ST145R12 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum Wheel # AM31208. Since trailer tires are designed for supporting heavy loads rather than providing a comfortable ride and traction like on cars they do not have to be balanced. This does not mean you can't balance the tires but do understand you would want to have them rebalanced over time since trailer brakes often lock up and would cause the tires to get out of balance. We do also have the Balancing Beads # CA83VR which you can add to your tires. These find the low spot in your tire while you drive to act as an active balancing system.
