Will Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Kill Battery of Vehicel

Question:

The battery for our 2014 Mercedes GL350 BlueTec was running down persistently. The technician diagnosed the problem as an aftermarket brake controller remaining in awake modefoot showing a draw of 0.0160AMPS with the controller in line and .0005 AMPs with the controller unplugged. What steps can I take to ensure that replacing the Prodigy P2 purchased in 2014 will resolve the issue? That is to say, can we confirm that is a fault and not a feature of the unit or a short somewhere else in the system such and the trailer connection.

The Prodigy P2 part # 90885 does go into a sleep mode that does not draw what you mentioned. It would not kill the battery of your Mercedes faster. It sounds like your old controller was malfunctioning and not going into sleep mode properly.
