Recommended Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution Hitch For A Forest River Surveyor Legend 202RBLE
Question:
I am in the process of buying a surveyor legend 202rble travel trailer with dry weight of 5200 and gvwr of 7500. Looking to get the reese steadi flex wdh with 10k or 12k gvwr as either will work. Is it better to be in lower range of hitch or higher for a better ride? I like the 12k better as I do not have to worry about going over tongue weight. I am not able to weigh trailor as I am in California and trailor is in Ohio

When it comes to weight distribution hitches you really want to be right in the middle of the hitch's weight capacity range to be able to handle it when empty and fully loaded. With a GVWR of 7,500 the trailer's tongue weight would be roughly 10-15% of that which comes out to 750lbs - 1,125lbs.
The 12k Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66560 has a 600lb - 1,200lb capacity range so it's going to be the better option to properly handle the weight of the trailer. I've attached a short video below where Dave will walk you through the installation process so that you can be well prepared before you go pick up the trailer.
