2022 Ram 3500 Truck Prep Recommendations for an In-Bed Camper

Question:

Im looking at getting a Truck Camper. I have a 2022 Ram 3500 and need all of the items for a successful installation. My truck bed does have the factory installed bed liner so Im not sure what Ill need there. I will also need the truck frame mounts too.

I recommend using the following parts to get your 2022 Ram 3500 ready for an in-bed camper:

- Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56000
- HappiJac Camper Tie-Downs # LC236326-205221
- HappiJac Qwik-Load Turnbuckles # LC182895
- Rubber Mat - 6-1/2' Bed # WT36706 or 8' Bed # WT88MF

The wiring gives you a 7-Way in your truck bed for easy access, and then the HappiJac tie-down system is the most universal option we have but it still has great quality. According to my research you don't want to install a camper onto a plastic liner so the rubber mat is a great alternative to what you currently have.

For a "Quality of Life" upgrade to your truck I recommend installing an air bag kit along with an air compressor system (as long as your truck doesn't have the factory air suspension). These aren't required for having an in-bed camper, but they will help your truck handle the heavy weight better and allow you to monitor and adjust your air bags on the fly. Here are the kits I recommend for your setup:

- Air Bag Kit - 2WD # F2616 OR 4WD # F2615
- Compressor Kit #AL25804
