Can Solar Power Be Used For Powering a Gaming PC and Washer/Dryer On a Jayco Eagle RV?
Question:
Hi there! Im looking at purchasing a 2021 Jayco Eagle RV and using it full time for a year or more. I would like to run it entirely on solar, including a gaming PC with a 100watt power source and eventually a small washer/dryer combo. Is it possible to add enough solar to run all of this equipment solely on solar and, if so, what would you recommend? Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:
While you could add enough solar power with the Solar Kit # 34282184, some additional Panels # 34282182 and Batteries # GP99QR. This is only typically going to provide enough power to run your smaller electronics and your PC. The larger appliances like a washer/dryer and air conditioner just draw so much power you would need to have a large battery bank with several batteries and a large solar array to provide enough power for everything. It is more reasonable to use a Generator # CH44FR to provide power when needing to power your larger appliances.
I linked a helpful article at the bottom of the page that will help you understand solar capabilities along with our solar calculator to help you understand how much you will need.
