Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2012 GMC 2500HD with 2.5 in Hitch Towing 12k Sport Boat

I have a 2012 GMC 2500 HD Pickup with 2.5inch Receiver. Pulling a 32inch sport boat with trailer weighg about 12,000. Is this correct hitch. The shock system sounds nice.

Based on everything you said in your question the Cushioned Ball Mount part # AMSCV-2 should work very well for you. This ball mount is designed to work on 2-1/2 inch hitches like what you have on your 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD and has an 18k capacity which is more than enough for your sport boat and trailer that weigh a total of 12k.
