2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed Puck System 5th Wheel Recommendation
Question:
Have a bed prepped with holes 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 DuraMax Diesel. Newbie looking to get a 5th wheel and not sure what to consider or what to get. Looking at 5th wheel trailers weighing between 10,000 and 15,000 lbs. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Choosing a 5th wheel hitch can definitely be overwhelming and I'll be happy to help you get your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 ready for the experience!
From what you described it sounds like you have the OEM puck system in the bed of your short bed truck. Because of this I recommend using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3775. This mounts directly to those pucks in your truck bed and it gives you one of the most reliable and comfortable towing experiences on the market.
A lot of people are tempted to go with the cheapest 5th wheel hitch they can find when they first start towing which is easy to understand since they just shelled out an arm and a leg on the trailer itself. The problem is that these lower end hitches will make your towing experience absolutely miserable and make you dread towing the trailer for your next trip. The Companion is a little more on the premium end of things, but it isn't the most expensive option out there.
One last thing to note; you may have seen some conversations online as well as some of our answer pages (mine included) talking about using the stationary B&W Companion # BWRVK3710 for a short bed truck. This can be done, but it's important to understand that this limits your turning as your truck cab may come into contact with your trailer on tight turns. So you can use it, just use it with caution.
Attached are some review and installation videos of these hitches for you to reference!
