Towing a 2021 Jeep grand Cherokee trailhawk. Will the steering be locked or free?

The steering will need to be free otherwise your wheels could lock and drag the when your motorhome makes a turn. If you haven't already picked out all of your flat towing components then I have the following recommendations:
Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521440-5.
Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables included and has an adjustable head to help keep it level between the motorhome and Jeep.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into your Jeep's tail light wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals through the Jeep's tail lights.
If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you'll need smart diodes instead with part # RM63MR.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This portable breaking system comes with a remote to display when the brakes are being activated in your Jeep and will also allow you to change your brake settings from the cab of your motorhome. It also comes with a charge line kit to help keep your Jeep's battery charged while you tow.
