Troubleshooting A Furrion Camera System That Loses Power When The Brakes Are Activated
Question:
I installed a Furrion compatible backup camera on my travel trailer. It plugs into a Furrion pre wired. When I put my tow vehicle into reverse the monitor shows what’s behind me. When I step on the tow vehicle brake to slowly back up the signal is lost. When I release the brake, still in reverse, the monitor has a signal and I can see behind my trailer. Obviously the the monitor should stay on while in reverse whether I’m tapping the TV brake or not.

Do you have incandescent or LED lights on your trailer? It sounds like the prewiring was ran to the tail lights of the trailer and when you press the brake pedal it's pulling too much power for brake signal for the Furrion Camera System # FOS43TASF to operate. This can be solved by switching to LED lights or splicing in the 12v PWM Filter # VGR64VR in the wiring behind the camera to provide it will a constant 12 volts.
