Recommended Hitch for a 2005 Subaru Outback Sedan

Question:

Is it absolutely certain the C12284 hitch will fit my 2005 Subaru Outback 3.0R sedan , without modification ? I read somewhere that Subaru has a different part number for the 2005 , that it is indeed different from the 2006 on . Thanks

I checked with Curt and I am 100% certain that their Item # C12284 does fit the 2005 Subaru Outback sedan unless it's the Sport model. There is no modification needed to complete the install either. I can't speak for factory parts because we have no direct affiliation with the manufacturers but this hitch has been around awhile and we've had no issues with fitment.

The Curt Hitch item # C12284 is custom fit and bolts to your 2005 Subaru Outback sedan with included hardware. It does not fit the Sport models. This is a class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. If you need a 2" hitch there is one available it is the Draw-Tite item # 75560.
