Recommended Firestone Air Bags for a 2007 Ford F-250

Question:

I have a 2007 f250 with BW gooseneck hitch. I also have a set of Firestone 6781 air bags. Can these be installed with BW hitch. If so, what brackets do I need. It has brackets on the bags, off a different truck, but no hardware. Will also be installing with a leveling valve and gauge, so I will need a pump and tank to supply air.

The good news is yes you can install a set of Firestone air bags onto your 07 F-250 and it will not interfere with your B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch.

The bad news is, the Replacement Air Spring for Firestone Ride-Rite Kit # F6781 you have is not compatible with your truck. These were made for an entirely different vehicle, and Firestone does not have a hardware kit for your truck.

Instead, you'd need to use a different set of bags altogether like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2400 if your truck is 4WD, or # F2398 if it's 2WD.

These springs are pretty close to the same 6781 bags you have now but are rated a bit higher at 5,000 lbs and is made to fit your truck. This kit also includes all the installation hardware needed as well as the air lines.

Finally, for a compressor and tank I recommend going with the Air Command II Xtreme Duty Compressor with Analog Gauge, Air Tank, and 25' Hose # F2549. This kit has an in-cab, dual gauge, controller, which will allow you to adjust either side individually for uneven loads. Included as well is an onboard storage tank, which will give you to the ability to make quick adjustments when needed.
