Brake Controller And 7 Way Install Kit For A 2016 Toyota Tacoma

My 2016 Toyota Tacoma does not have a factory towing package. It has an after market Curt 4 pin flat trailer connector. I need a 7 way connector and a brake controller. What parts do I need?

We can definitely set you up. We actually make a universal wiring kit designed for this exact purpose. What you will need is the Universal Install Kit # ETBC7. This will include all of the components needed to upgrade the existing 4-flat connector to a 7 way connector. You will then be able to install a brake controller of your choice.
For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty # RED24FR. This is a fully proportional brake controller that uses a small control knob which mounts on the dash. The rest of the controller is completely hidden behind your dash. You have the option of using the plug and play harness # RED99FR for easy install. You can also use the control knob insert # 331-TPSI-002 which is made specifically for your 2016 Toyota Tacoma, to give the knob a factory look.
