Recommended Bike Rack For Two REI Co Op Gen e1.2 Bikes
Question:
I received a REI Coop Gen e1.2 as a gift. I have a 2 inch hitch. The bike weighs 53 lbs. It is a step thru. Wheels are 20 inches. It has both a metal front and rear rack. Tires are 2.4 inches wide. Because of the racks and configuration of the frame, Im trying to find a bike rack that will accomodate this bike. I will be putting two of these bikes on the rack. Can you tell me if this bike rack would be suitable, if not any recommendations? Thanks,

Based on the specs of the bike the Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY66ZR would be a good option as long as you also use a frame adapter # HRBA-PRO so that the padded clamps have something to grab onto. This rack has a per bike capacity of 70lbs, wheel diameter range of 20" - 29", and maximum tire width of 4.5". The adapter will connect around the seat post and handlebar post to give the clamps a solid base to grip. With the wheel cradles using straps you won't have any issues with the front and rear racks either. This rack also comes with a locking hitch pin to help prevent theft.
I've attached a short video below where AJ will give you a closer look at the rack.
