Troubleshooting a Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System Compressor Not Working

Question:

Installed InvisiBrake RM-8700 on 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid full time electric brakes and system not working. Pulled brake-away switch and nothing happens. No compressor sound or pressure being shown. Brake is not being applied. Have turned pressure down in case it was all the way up. Verified there is 12 volts at power plug. Have not connected to the MH yet so it has not seen normal brake signal yet. What is my next step in troubleshooting the issue.

Pulling the breakaway pin is not the correct way to test the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 in your 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. You will need to have everything installed and hooked up on both the vehicle and motorhome side. You will also need to have the motorhome running when you perform the test, which is done by pressing the brake pedal.

I have also included the installation instructions, the test process starts on page 16. If you perform all of this and are getting the same results, I have included some compressor troubleshooting below.

There are two fuses wired to the air compressor circuit. One 20 amp fuse on the power wire of the battery, and a 10 amp fuse connected on the blue wire that runs from the ignition switch to the air compressor.

Inspect these fuses and any poor or loose wiring connections. Try using a jumper wire 12-volt source to connect to the compressor to see if it operates. If the compressor works, then the issue is along the wiring. If the compressor does not work, then there may be an issue with the unit itself.
