Buses and other vehicles with 24 volt electrical systems are not something we normally fit but I do have a diagram of how you would wire in a brake controller on a 24 volt system. I have included a link to it for you.

I can recommend a couple of specific brake controller models for you. I prefer proportional brake controllers. These controllers have a pendulum sensor inside that detects how hard the vehicle is stopping. So the harder you press the brakes, the more power the brake controller sends to the trailer brakes. The Tekonsha P2, part # 90885, is our best selling proportional brake controller. It works very well, has great reviews, and this would be my personal choice for 90 of trailer brake applications.

There is another type of electric brake controller available and they are a time-delayed function. A time-delayed brake controller applies a pre-determined amount of pressure on the trailer brakes immediately after you hit the foot brake. They can cost less than a proportional and work very well, I just feel they are not as smooth. Our best selling time-delayed controller is the PowerTrac # 39523. This is the time-delayed controller I like best and this unit also gets great reviews.
