Are the Load Resistors a Fire Hazard

Question:

Ive installed l.e.d. bulbs in the rear cargo area of my jeep . Because of the location and the heat that the resistors produce , does the resistor have to be mounted in that area or can i just mount it in a safer area no fire

LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # DI34ZR that you referenced are not a fire hazard. You do not need to install them in a location that would prevent them from generating enough heat to melt or burn anything as they can get up to 140-160 degrees.

Typically these load resistors are installed on turn signal circuits that are converted to LED to prevent hyper-flashing or on other circuits converted to LED to prevent bulb-out warnings lights. I would think that for just replacing cargo area lights in the rear area of your Jeep they would not be necessary.
