Should Crossbars be Spread Out As Far As Possible for Carrying Canoe
Question:
Hi - I have a 2023 Santa Fe Hyundai. For a canoe mount. Using the most front and rear connections, seems to provide the best support, spreading the load further apart. The diagram for 27” seems as if the canoe would snap at the middle. The roof rack is Rhino Rack. I have the canoe side supports also by Rhino Rack. I tie the canoe on each roof rack and bow and stern lines. 4 ties total. Canoe is 16’ long Thoughts would be appreciated

On a roof rack like the Rhino Rack # RRVA126B-2, # RRRCL4, # RR66QJ you have on your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe it is best to have the crossbars as spread out as possible to better distribute the weight of a longer item like a canoe so I would say you are on the right track.
