Fittings Needed To Connect A Portable Grill To A Quick Disconnect Fitting On The Back Of A Trailer

Question:

I an looking for the parts necessary to connect a tabletop portable propane grill to my gas line at the end of the trailer. The line is fed by a 20 lb tank, approx. 34 ft away. There is not a regulator on this line. It has a 1/4 female quick connector at the end. I want to go from that point to the portable grill. I believe the grill has a 3/8 flare male fitting. I will also need a low pressure regulator. Do you have a prepared line with these capabilities or the parts necessary to make this work? Thank you

To go from the quick disconnect fitting on the rear of your trailer to the portable grill you'll need a few different components. The first thing you'll need to do is connect a regulator like the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013 to the grill using a 3/8" female flare to 3/8" male NPT adapter fitting (you'll have to get this from your local hardware store). From there you can use an adapter hose like the Quick Disconnect Propane Hose # 37207-31125 to complete the connection to the regulator and QD port on the trailer. The 1/4" NPT fitting on the hose will screw into the 1/4" NPT inlet of the regulator.

I recommend using some pipe thread sealant tape # 37207-30025 on your NPT connection points, but not on the flare fittings, to prevent leaks.
