How To Measure For A Truck Bed Camper RV Storage Cover

Question:

I am looking for a cover for a 2020 Northstar 850sc backpack style camper. I looked at the one you recommend and am a little confused. The Adco SFS AquaShed cover #290-12262 you recommend says in the title description for up to 10foot camper. Yet under specs it says, 16foot long x 8-11/16foot wide x 8-11/16foot tall. Which is correct? Our camper is 180inch long by 106inch high fully raised and 84inch wide. Thank you.

The wording for truck bed campers is a bit confusing so I reached out to ADCO to clarify how exactly to measure and find the correct cover. The Adco SFS AquaShed RV Cover # 290-12262 lists that it's designed to 8' - 10' lengths but doesn't clarify that this measurement is only for the body of the camper and not actually including the nose/overhang. That's why when you look at the dimensions it lists 16' in length. They make it much more complicated than it needs to be to determine the correct fit.

The # 290-12262 is 192" L x 104" W x 104" H so you'd most while you'd most likely have enough overhang from the length and width to make up for the 2" in height that your camper is over it's still a bit of a gamble. Most likely the reinforced corners wouldn't line up correct and you'd wear through the portion of the material that ends up resting on the edges.

I recommend the Camco UltraGuard Slide-In Camper Cover - 16-1/2' Long # CAM45771 instead since it more closely matches your dimensions. The overall dimensions are 200" L x 106" W x 108" H and the overhang portion is 44" H x 78" L.
