Can Tekonsha Prodigy P2 90885 Be Mounted Vertical In 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk?
Question:
In reference to the Prodigy 2 part # 90885 and the 3014-P plug. I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and I watched the video for installation on the 2015 Grand Cherokee. My Jeep has the factory plug like in the still photo. I am wondering where to mount the unit ? I believe there is an airbag right under the steering wheel and I certainly dont want to drill into that. Would the mounting pocket work with velcro ? Can it be mounted vertically? I have attached two photos of the area in question. Your help with options will be appreciated. Thanks

The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 can indeed be mounted vertically in your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, but it has to be pointing the direction of travel as shown in the included picture. I wouldn't recommend using velcro, but you can attach the bracket however you see fit as long as it's secure. I'd check for an air bag underneath the dash, as you wouldn't want to mount a brake controller on an air bag even if you use velcro as if it went off it would throw the controller at you causing potential harm.
