Will Saris Freedom SA4412B-R Really Work With 57" Wheel Base?
Question:
Hello - I am trying to buy a recumbent bike: But need a rack to transport it. I am limited to 1 1/4 in hitch because of my car. Therefore Saris Freedom is really the only choice since Hollywood racks require 2 inch hitch. I also vastly prefer the Saris Freedom because it weighs a lot less. My concern is that the wheelbase of the bike is 56.5 inch and the max wheelbase of the hitch is 57 inch. It should work, but we are very close to the limit it seems. How much of a risk is it to buy the Saris rack? In your experience, is there good alignment between bike specs and bike rack specs?

Saris is a top-tier bike rack manufacturer, and we've found their specs are dead-on when it comes to wheel base like you're running in to.
The Saris Freedom # SA4412B-R will work perfectly with your 56-1/2" wheel base, though I'd double check that the bike manufacturer is being honest here first.
