I have backed the tear trailer down my driveway with a decline. The back of the driveway has a concrete lip and the trailer is not going anywhere. But I can get the trailer to disengage. Thought?

Sounds like the hitch ball has bound up in some way to the coupler and you need to pull forward slightly to relieve the bind and allow it to release.
