Recommended Kayak Carrier for Two 74" Wide Kayaks
Question:
I am wondering if this trailer could transport 2 very wide kayaks flat on their hull. The total width of the two kayaks is 74 inches, yet the bunks are only 60 inches long. Would that work with the bunks provided when they are set up perpendicular to the tongue? Or could I replace them with longer bunks? Lastly, what is the distance between the two bunks when in this perpendicular configuration?

The CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870 is going to be a bit too narrow to be able to carry your two kayaks that are 74" wide. This trailer is only 54" wide from fender to fender so with your kayaks being 20" wider this is not going to be the best option in my opinion.
I recommend going with the Malone MicroSportXT Trailer - 78" Crossbars - Retractable Tongue # MPG460XT with two of the etrailer Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding # e98878.
This trailer comes with crossbars installed that are 78" wide so you'd have plenty of room for your two kayaks, an 800-lbs weight capacity, as well as a retractable tongue for compact storage.
