Are There Any Manual Changeover Dual Tank Propane Regulators Available

Question:

I would like to connect two 20 lb propane tanks using solely for grilling with a manual change over valve - so when the in use tank goes empty I can switch over to the full tank and later remove the empty tank for refilling. I don’t want an auto switching regulator since I will be right there, to do the switch, when the in use tank goes empty. I assume my current regulator will need to be replaced unless some type of fitting is available to connect it to a manual changeover valve. Do you have anything like this? Many Thanks

Since we don't currently have a manual changeover regulator the easiest option to essentially make it manual would be to simply use a automatic one like the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS you were looking at and just simply open only one propane tank valve at a time.

You could run both tanks to a manifold with separate cutoff valves and then to a single tank regulator like you most likely have, but you'd be adding additional components, taking up space and adding more failure points for a leak.

If you don't already have a dual tank setup then you'll most likely need a new holder. For 20lb tanks you can use part # 37220BL and for 30lb tanks you can use part # 37230B. If you'd like a cover for both tanks then you can use part # CAM40542 to protect them and help prevent any corrosion to the regulator or hoses/fittings. You'll also want to pick up some pigtail hoses to connect to the regulator like part # 100575-15-MBS.
