Which Gen-Y Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Fits 2019 Riverstone 38RE

Question:

I have a 2022 GMC 2500hd crew cab with a short bed. I have the BandW turnover ball. I use the convert-a-ball adapter with my 5th wheel and it has worked well. I have purchased a 42ft 2019 Riverstone 38re 5th wheel that is a 16 hr drive from my home. it has an air-ride 5th wheel hitch on it so I obviously need to change that out. I want to go with the Gen-Y 3.5k auto hitch but Im not positive thats the right one. The trailer weight is 17,000 empty 19,000 loaded the tongue weight is 3,030 lbs but when I go to the chart that says trailer weight X 0.22 it bumps me up to the 4.5k hitch but just barely. Im thinking the 3.5k is the one I should get but Im not positive. The seller sent me a picture of the sticker on the pin box it says LCI # 7155521 Im assuming that the Gen-y will bolt right up am I correct I also assume I will need the 4-inch offset ball. Is this going to work or am I asking for trouble?

I checked with Lippert and they said your LCI pin box 7155521 is a Lippert 1621 so based on your pin weight of right at 3,000 lbs the Gen-Y fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter you'd want is the part # 325-GH-8045 which has the 3,500 pin weight capacity. The formula you mentioned is for getting pin weight if you only have the total trailer weight so since you have actual pin weight you would not need to adhere to it.

Since the camper has a tapered nose you would not need an offset ball to have needed turning clearance.
