Complete Flat Tow Setup for a 2021 Tiffin Allegro Red MH Pulling A 2020 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Hi, I have 2021 Tiffin Allegro Red 340 38LL and flat towing 2020 Wrangler ecoDiesel. Based on the hitch sticker it is V-5 hitch but is only rated at 5,000 lbs. Why is that? V-5 rated should be good for over 10,000 lbs. My Jeep is about 5,400 lbs. Do I need to replace my hitch or its good enough. Thanks

The reason that your Class V is only rated for 5K when it's rated for far more than that normally is because your motorhome is only rated for a maximum towing capacity of 5,000-lbs.
However, when you flat tow a vehicle all of the vehicle's weight is taken on by the tow-bars not the necessarily the hitch itself. So, all you'd need is to use a set of tow bars that can handle your Jeeps weight.
That said, for a complete flat towing setup you're going to need:
-A base plate kit, Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1139,
-A braking system, Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR with the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332,
-A tow bar, etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # e47ZR using the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2182,
& Finally, a set of wiring # RM-152-98146-7.
