Recommended Hitch for a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line

Question:

Hello, I have a 2018 VW Tiguan SEL R Line that Im trying to get a hitch for. Etrailer lists hitches for the 2018 tiguan and the 2018 Tiguan limited. Not sure if my Vehicle is the non limited or limited, and look very different in the photos. Do you know which one I should get for my vehicle? Thanks

I checked with Curt, for your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line you are going to want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13381. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Tiguan with included hardware.

VW added some extra trim pieces for the R-Line model. Those will need to be trimmed down significantly for the hitch to be installed. Removing or modifying these trim pieces will not affect the function of your hitch and shouldn't affect the appearance of your VW as the pieces are on the underside of the vehicle.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56403 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
