How to Tell if Spring is out of Alignment For Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box LC155943

Question:

In the installation manual for this product it says: Before applying the air nozzle fitting at the top of the pin box, make sure the alignment pin is in the hole on the bottom of the air spring. My question is, how do you know the alignment pin is not in the hole, and if not, how do you move it? I noticed after towing my fifth wheel trailer the air bag was slightly tilted to the passenger side of the pin box. I this an indication the alignment pin was not in the hole at the bottom of the air bag?

Thank you very much for your purchase from etrailer of the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC155943.

The pin box has a keyway where the spring bolt sits that you slide in where the air spring rests; it is hard to see the whole thing due to it being black, but I added a photo which shows where it is. You move it by hand, back and forth, with the spring fully deflated. If the air bag was tilted, this is indeed an indication the alignment may not have been fully in the hole.
