Class I Trailer Hitch Fitment on a 2019 Chevy Sonic Hatchback
Question:
I was looking to purchase draw tite hitch # 24878 for my 2019 Chevy Sonic but it appears to no longer be listed on the website. Has this hitch been discontinued? I preferred this option over the Curt hitch as it didnt require an additional support strap

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24878 is a fit for your 2019 Chevy Sonic Hatchback. As of right now (April 2023) the parent company of Draw-Tite was bought out so a lot of their products are in a kind of "limbo" state as everything is reassessed before they start moving forward again - so if you're needing a hitch sooner rather than later, the Curt alternative, part # C11464, is what you'll need to go with.
The good news is a few years ago Curt decided to start removing that stabilizer strap requirement on their Class I hitches so it technically isn't needed. If you want to add a little more support and stability though, the strap they recommend using is part # 18050 which can be connected to the vehicle via the hatch or even the safety chain loops.
