Question:

The hitch pin hole on my 2” WD shank was 11or 12 inches, the 2.5 “ shanks are 8” , will this be an issue ?

Whether the 8' distance from the hitch pin hole to the adjustment holes on the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ94FR will be an issue or not is dependent on your truck and trailer set-up. There is not a clear yes or no, it depends on the clearances you have.

If you are utilizing the whole 11" or 12" that your 2" hitch shank has, then the 8" distance would not be adequate. If you have room to spare between your truck and trailer with your current shank then the # EQ94FR may work just fine. Unfortunately, there is not a way for me to know this and you would need to measure the clearance between your truck and trailer with your current system hooked up to know if you can use a short shank or not.
