Recommended Weight Distribution System When Pulling a Trailer with a 540 Lb. Tongue Weight

Question:

Looking for recommendations for weight distro / sway control hitches. Have a Durango GT AWD 3.6L, 6,200 towing capacity, 620 tongue wt. to pull an Apex Nano 213RDS, 540 TW, and 6,000 lbs., if fully loaded. Looking at the following: - FA94-00-0600 - FA94-00-0800 - EQ37060ET - EQ37100ET Also, wondering about shank size. And will also on occasion pull with F250. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated

I recommend going with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800. The reason for this is that ideally you want a system that your max tongue weight falls in the middle of. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800 has a tongue weight range between 400 lbs. - 800 lbs., which is ideal for your 6,000 lb. trailer with 540 lb. tongue weight.

This provides for the best ride quality, while giving you wiggle room on both sides of the tongue weight.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800 comes with a shank that provides up to 5-3/4" of rise and 3-1/2" of drop. Obviously your Durango will sit lower than your F-250, so it will really depend on how much higher your F-250 sits and what holes you have to use with your Durango.

We do offer additional shanks with different rise, drop and lengths. If you discover that the shank that is included does not work for both vehicles, just let me know how much more rise/drop/length that you need and I would be happy to recommend a compatible shank.
