Recommended Base Plate and Tow Bar for a 2023 Ford Bronco With Modular Steel Bumper

Question:

Hello. I have a 2023 bronco that I’m planning on flat towing. It has the oem steel modular bumper. My question is can I attach a tow bar to the two recovery points safely. Or do I need to go with the recommended base plates. I have all the items in my cart that I think I need. Just looking to keep the factory recovery points on the vehicle if I can. And also save some cash. Any help is appreciated. New to the flat tow world. Thanks

While you probably could use the recovery points to fat tow your Bronco the other issue you're going to run into is finding an adapter that will work. As of right now, nobody in the industry makes an adapter like what you're needing so with that being said your best bet is to use a proper base plate.

I recommend going with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM92ZR. This kit is fairly inexpensive considering the ladder and has a virtually invisible drawbar when the arms are removed keeping that "from-the-factory" look.

The last thing you're going to need is a tow bar that is compatible with that base plate. The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights # RM-676 is my pick for its high 8K capacity, integrated LED strip for added visibility while unhooking/hooking as well as overall aesthetics, and it also includes the 7 to 6 way RV cord and safety cables.

If you have nay questions about any of the other parts needed or you have picked out let me know and I'd be happy to help.
