Are Oblong Holes Okay on Weight Distribution System Part 54970
Question:
I have some pictures of my weight distribution system and ask you if this looks right. Thanks

Expert Reply:
The oblong holes are a no go, the spring bars will eventually fall out of the socket and the system would be completely ineffective as well as a danger to those around you. Also, if you are loading your trailer to the max then the system you have now is actually a bit underrated as it's only rated for up to 12,000 lbs and the trailer has a GVWR of 12,920 lbs. I recommend replacing with the Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17057 which is a great budget option that gives you a bit more capacity at 14,000 lbs.
