Recommended Flat Towing Set Up for a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor

Question:

I have a 2018 Ford F150 Raptor. I want to flat tow it and already have a Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar. I understand I need Item # RM-524431-5 baseplate kit. I need some help ing the correct wiring kit for my truck. I found Item # RM-152-1676-7, but really dont want another 7 to 6 way umbilical cord, since I already have it on my towbar. The other question is what electric supplemental brake system do you recommend. Thanks

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit item # RM-524431-5 is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford Raptor and is by far the best option. With the arms removed the front end of your Raptor will look as close to factory as possible when your truck is not being flat towed.

Since your Roadmaster Nighthawk Towbar item # RM-676 already includes the coiled wire you will just need the Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit item # RM-152 and the 6-Wire Trailer Connector item # RM-910030-7.

I have linked a couple of installation videos below so you can see how to get these parts set up.

For a supplemental braking system, I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 which is designed to work with RV's that have standard hydraulic brakes or the Demco SBS Air Force One item # SM99243 for RV's with air brakes. Both of these systems are permanently installed and once set up will be easy to use. If you are planning on keeping your truck for a few years or longer then you will want a permanent system over a portable one. Once set up you don't have to do anything other than turn the system on.

You will also need a Brake-Lite Relay Kit item # RM-88400 to prevent the brake lights from overriding the turn signals from the motorhome.
