Will the License Plate on a 2021 Infiniti QX50 Be Blocked By a Thule Helium or T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack

Question:

I have a 2021 Infiniti QX50 SUV. Im currently looking at the Thule Helium platform rack or the Thule T2 Pro XT/TR will they interfere with the vehicles backup camera and/or block the license plate if the rack is on the vehicle in the up position? Attaching a pic of the rear of vehicle, where you can see hitch receiver and the backup camera positions. Thanks.

Yes, using either the Thule Helium Bike Rack # TH44VR or the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH83JV will block the license plate and obstruct the camera when in the upright position. The license plate and camera will also be obstructed when you have bikes loaded on the bike rack.

But for the license plate this is easily remedied. You just need to use a license plate holder to relocate the license plate when using the rack with bikes or in the upright position. The camera will remain obstructed by the rack.

- Thule License Plate Holder for Bike Racks # TH35JV

This license plate holder will allow you to easily relocate your plate to not be obstructed and has integrated lights that keep your license plate visible at night using a 4-way connector.

It looks like you may not already have a 4-way connector on your QX50. If you do not and you would like to use the lights, you can add a 4-way using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118796.

I have also included a picture of each bike rack on a similarly sized vehicle to show you approximately how much of the plate and camera will be obstructed when in the upright position.
