Brake Controller Recommendation for Hauling 9,000 lb Skidsteer
Question:
Hi..I need a new brake controller to put in a 1984 international truck which pulls a 9000 lb skidsteer...I have a time delay controller now and I change settings when empty or loaded...I am leaning towards a proportionate controller question is ,,How does the proportionate know if Im empty or loaded or would I have to adjust it everytime..Thank you

Proportional controllers are definitely the better way to go for highway travel, but most of them require you to go back through and adjust the settings for when you have a loaded or empty trailer. Since you're wanting something that eliminates the need to remember settings I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it's easy to navigate with the LCD screen and it allows you to save various settings so you just have to switch between profiles when you take your skidsteer off the trailer.
I've attached a review video and the instructions for this controller that you can check out.
