Locations That the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System Can Be Mounted
Question:
Im interested in the Invisibrake auxiliary breaking system for a 2006 Jeep wrangler tj an LJ unlimited if it matters Im curious where your installers have been mounting these in TJs. Ive looked under the drivers seat and if there is sufficient room Id be surprised. As an alternative, Ive got a spot picked out in the engine bay over the battery but not sure the environmental exposure would be good for it dust, potentially water spashing, heat etc. Just wondering if someone could elaborate on installation recomendations. Thank you

When mounting the control box for the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 in your 2006 Jeep Wrangler, under the drivers seat is a popular option. However, sometimes this is not practical due to space or other circumstances.
But the beauty of the InvisiBrake is that the control box can be mounted anywhere and can even be mounted vertically or upside down. I have included two different installation videos of the # RM-8700. They are not the exact same Wrangler as yours but each provides different insight into mounting locations. One of them is even installed in the back of the Jeep.
You do not want to install the InvisiBrake in the engine compartment. Roadmaster actually says "Under no circumstances should you mount the Invisibrake controller in the engine compartment or on the outside of the vehicle. Road elements or extensive exposure to heat can cause significant, non-warranty damage."
