How to Check if Trailer Axles Are in Correct Position on Gooseneck Trailer
Question:
I have a new 30foot gooseneck with a 5foot dove tail, the trailer shakes terrible, I have measured from the back edge of the trailer where the dove tail starts to the center of the rear axle and its 74.5 inches, could my axles be mounted to far to the front? Thanks,

In regards to trailer axle placement, this will vary from trailer to trailer as there are many factors so we can't exactly inform of this for anyone particular trailer. That said, we do have a guide you can use which is what we recommend consulting when building a trailer from scratch. I have attached this for you below.
I do also have options for you to smooth the ride such as using a cushioned coupler like the Shocker Hitch Air Cushioned Gooseneck Coupler part # SHK79MR but this isn't designed to compensate for issues such as incorrect loading, bad tires, misaligned axles etc. If you can let me know what coupler you have I'd be glad to confirm fit of a cushioned replacement if you want to give this a try.
