Why Is My 60 Amp Converter Sending Less Than 60 Amps

Question:

Hello. I ordered this item from etrailer. I just installed this upgrade and set the switch to Liinch . I also attached a new SOK Lithium battery 12V, 100AH. I have a Victron BMV-712 to monitor the SOC. Upon plugging in the RV, the Victron reports a charging rate of 14Awatt-meter confirms this charge rate. The battery terminal voltage shows ~14.5V. I was expecting to see closer to 50A of charging the battery charge rate is up to 50A, and this converter is rated up to 60A. I wrote the battery company and they say its the converter that chooses the delivery power. How can I get faster charging out of this item? Again, I purchased this because I expected to charge my LiFePO4 battery near its rated 50A charging rate. Thanks!

The converter # PD4060CSV does choose the charge rate, but it's based on the charge level of the battery. Most likely your battery charge level isn't low enough for the converter to send a larger amperage.

Voltage on Lithium batteries is the same between 80% and 20% so using a meter to check the voltage wouldn't give you an accurate measurement.
