Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For A Look Brand Snow Mobile Trailer
Question:
Hello I have a Look brand snowmobile trailer. It is 23 fee long V nose. It is 7 feet wide and 6.5 feet tall. I pull it with a 2022 Ford Maverick. The total weight of the trailer with 2 snowmobile and gear is roughly 3500 to 4000 pounds. When I use the trailer I get some sway at higher speeds. I have moved the load to increase tongue weight, checked tire pressure and all the other normal stuff. I want to invest in one of the anti sway / weight distribution devices. What do you recommend?

I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450 for your Look Brand Snowmobile trailer. I like this weight distribution hitch because it has integrated 2-point sway control that will limit the side to side movement. It also has no lift chains that will eliminate unwanted movement. The weight distribution hitch has a tongue weight up to 450 pounds and has a gross towing weight up to 4,500 pounds putting your trailer right in the perfect spot for this WDH. When installing this hitch the brackets will need to be installed 25 inches to 30 inches back from the center off the coupler. If you do not have that clearance you will have to use the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000. If you trailer has electric brakes this system will use the brakes to correct the trailer sway that you're seeing. This system will only correct trailer sway and will not do any load leveling for your 2022 Ford Maverick.
Everything is included with the weight distribution hitch except the 2 inch Hitch Ball # 40038. I linked an installation video below on the Fastway hitch being installed onto a 2019 Toyota RAV4. The installation process will be quite similar for your 2022 Ford Maverick. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you.
