How weather proof is this echo brake controller?

The Curt Echo In-Line Wireless Brake Controller # C79DR is designed to sit under your vehicle so it will work just fine in any whether conditions you'll be facing - I would just avoid submerging it.

This comes with a limited lifetime warranty which just goes to show how confident Curt is in their product.

If the controller being exposed to the elements is a concern then I recommend checking out the Curt Echo Under-Dash Wireless Brake Controller # C27JR instead. This installs under the dash of your 2019 GMC Canyon by using the pigtail # C51515 to connect to the existing wiring in your cab. This way it's out of sight, out of mind, and you don't have to worry about anything happening to the controller when it comes to the elements.
