Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3035-P will work great with your 2000 Ford F-150 XLT with the factory tow package.
This wiring adapter will plug into the back of the brake controller and then into the factory wiring harness beneath the dash of your truck for an easy plug and play installation.
For mounting the brake controller, you will just need to use the included mounting bracket and mount it underneath onto your trucks dash.
Attached is an installation video for you to check out as well.
