The issues you'll run into installing an RV air conditioner in a van are BTU rating and roof thickness. The RV air conditioners are designed to cool much larger spaces so installing one in a much smaller space would often freeze you out. The roof thickness in a van is also much less than the roof thickness in an RV so you will need to find a way to add additional backing to make the unit compatible. The smallest units we offer are 13,500 BTU's like the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner part # ACM135BC for black or part # ACM135C for white which is what I recommend. These are complete kits that come with everything you need for installation.
In order to power the unit you'd likely need to install a shore power inlet on the van like the Mighty Cord Replacement RV Power Inlet part # A10-30INBKVP and then hook this up to a generator using the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord part # A10-3025EDBK and Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Generator Adapter part # A10-G30430VP.
The other option you have for cooling which won't provide nearly as much as the above but is perhaps a bit more practical, would be to install one or multiple roof vent fans like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent with Fan part # MA00-07500K for smoke or part # MA00-07000K for white.
