Locking Out the Tow Bar Arms on an etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar

Question:

I have an etrailer SD-e98971 tow bar that I am trying to use with a Jeep Wrangler. For some reason I can not get the second arm to lock. The instructions say to turn the wheel towards the arm that is locked and back up which I have tried with no success?

When locking out the arms on the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e47ZR (e98971), I would try pulling forward in the motorhome. While doing so you will want to steer briefly left and then briefly right to extend, self-center and lock each tow bar arm.

If you do not have any luck locking out the tow bar arms in this manner, I would inspect the tow bar to ensure that the tow bar arm is not bent or the latch is not damaged in any way.
