Does Install of Curt Hitch on 2012 Chrysler Town and Country Require Fascia Trimming
Question:
I also thought I had seen info that strongly suggested my year and model wouldnt require trimming or I would have done so prior to bolting the hitch to the frame. i.e. Tech Tip: Some minor fascia trimming may be required around the receiver on 2014 Chrysler Town and Country and 2008-2014 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan applications.inch My vehicle isnt listed in that statement. I see no instructions on how to trim the fascia and that a part of that is what the fascia material is and what needs to be used tool wise to do it. A video on that would have been most beneficial. Part of my concern is not just the shorter perhaps on mine 1inch not 1/2inch end cuts, but also the longer cut going across the top of the hitch. I expect that given the width of the slots on hitch compared to the bolt diameter in this situation it may help limit amount needing cut if the hitch can be pushed back towards front of truck as possible. Also how to mark the area that needs cut so it is as straight as reasonably possible etc. Hopefully when trimmed the ball mount will go in ok after trimming and the top of ball mount will adequately clear bottom of fascia! Not sure given amount of bow.

Trimming the fascia of your 2012 Chrysler Town and Country for the install of the Curt hitch part # C12264 will require you to lower the hitch to access the fascia. I know that's what you were wanting to avoid but it will be easier than trying to trim the fascia with the hitch installed. It also will allow you to do a much better job that will look nicer and more professional. I'd use a utility knife for this.
