Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 With 6-3/4' Bed And Puck System

Question:

Hi, I have a brand new GMC Sierra 2500hd 2022, standard bed, with the pucks. My trailer to come has a max weight of 12000 lbs, and my truck can handle 14500. Your website suggests I install a 24k kit, but I thought 20k would be enough. Any more info? Thanks!

If you're looking for hitch known for it's ride quality and durability then you'll want to go with the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3775.

This hitch has a 20,000lb capacity which is well over what your trailer's GVWR would require and also features a slider base to help get you through tight turns with your short bed Sierra.

The feet of this hitch are designed to drop right into the puck system in the bed of your truck for easy installation and removal. All other hitches would require a separate adapter to be able to drop into your puck system. The head easily comes off by pulling the pins on both sides to lighten the load when it's time to move the hitch.

I recommend getting a lube plate like part # RP83002 to pop onto the king pin of your pin box to make coupling to the hitch smoother. If you have anymore questions then please let me know.
